Escambia, Santa Rosa Counties Transform Damaged Signs Into Underwater Reefs
The two counties are partnering to embed discarded metal signposts into concrete reef modules for placement in Escambia County waters, funded by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Welding students from George Stone Technical College are fabricating the structures, gaining hands-on experience while creating new marine habitats for fish and invertebrates.
