Fort Walton Beach Firefighters Honored for Rescuing Dogs from House Fire

Captain Sam Signer and Firefighter David Leonard of the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department rescued two large dogs from a smoke-filled home on Rainbow Drive on July 22 after extinguishing a carport fire. The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society presented both firefighters with Animal Lifesaving Awards this week for their efforts.
